Community resources


Family Services

Families can find a wide range of support services. In some cases, you can request service on behalf of a family member. Services may include:

  • child care support programs — support, resources and referral services for child care providers and parents
  • arranging for child care
  • parenting education
  • respite services
  • home support worker assistance
  • a one-on-one child and youth counselor who works with the child and their family and consults with the child's school
  • family counseling
  • assistance for Aboriginal families by Aboriginal support workers
  • assistance for immigrant families by settlement workers
